Design Solution
PlaceMate Architects designed a family-friendly home that brings the outside in. From the entry through the central front door into all the living spaces that open to the northern aspect. These rooms enjoy great weather, without the harsh sunlight, as well as views of the pool, and play areas. They enjoy a feeling of space with the expanse of bush beyond. In addition, the parents’ retreat is located on one side of the house. While the kids’ rooms are located on the other side of the main living areas.
The shared interior and living areas reflect the clean and spacious open plan design. Couple this, with the east-west axis of the house that provides a private entrance from the garage to the private bedrooms. Budget is also an important consideration. The more expensive building materials and finishes have been used sparingly in the feature locations of the home – at entry and in the living spaces. The pale neutral finishes beautifully flow throughout the interior and exterior of the home.
Meanwhile, the indoor and outdoor design features are subtly arranged to create a sense of size and space. The lighting has been carefully planned to reduce heating and lighting costs within the home year-round. Low-maintenance gardens surround the newly-built structure, bringing colour and life to the building.
This makes the large outdoor areas of this Pine Mountain rural home, easy to care for and fun for the family.
