Brisbane Home Show – Stand M04 – 24 to 26 February, 2023

The Brisbane Home Show is right around the corner and we are gearing up for the busy and exciting three-day event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. We have been to a few of these in our time. So we thought we would give you a tour of who to visit at this fantastic trade exhibition.

When you enter the doors of the Home Show, we are a friendly, familiar, face right near the entry at Stand M04 (see the map below). You may find yourself overwhelmed by the number of stalls and professionals keen for a chat. In this Guide to the Brisbane Home Show, let us show you the ins and outs of when to chat to an architect, as well as when to consider chatting to other trades.

We’ve made it easy to find us and chat with our architectural team using the Map below. Simply scan the QR Code on the map below from your phone, or click this link to book a 15-min consultation with one of our experienced architectural and design team.

We’ll be honest with you – hiring an architect can be costly BUT, it is well worth the investment. You need an architect when your site, your slope, or your wishlist gets a little too complex. There could be town planning issues, complicated renovations, and questions that can’t be solved with a standard answer.

Now, you may be asking, “Which architect should I speak with at the Home Show?”. Of course, this is completely up to you. We recommend you speak to as many as you can. At the end of the day, it’s about who can help realise your vision and whom you resonate with the most. Sure, the cost may be a big factor in who you choose to go with, but in the big picture, it doesn’t make much of a difference. The architectural aspect of renovation focuses on the site at the start of the process. The value-added from your architectural design will become clearer as you reach the middle and end of the project.

Thinking of renovating your inner-Brisbane suburban house or Queenslander?

If you are thinking about renovating, extending, or building on your existing site, we highly recommend you take the time to visit us at the Brisbane Home Show. The Home Show will be running from Friday 1 – Sunday 3 of April. Book a time to come and say hello to us at Stand M04 and chat about all things renovation.

When to chat with other tradespeople at the Brisbane Home Show

The Brisbane Home Show is all about who YOU want to talk with. It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to gauge your goals and talk to professionals. We would love to chat with you about anything and everything, but sometimes it’s best to have an idea of who you want to see before entering those doors. You’ve got to make the most out of these days!

Specialist trades

Rows upon rows of stalls, lined with the best players in the game: the specialists. If you’re after a renovated kitchen with marble benchtops, a new deck out the back, or a custom door, these are your people. Specialist tradespeople are the best in the business, and the Home Show is the perfect place to have a chat. Not only are they readily available for a face-to-face conversation, they also have excellent deals, exclusively for Home Show visitors. Book a time to visit PlaceMate Architects and to chat about these specific aspects of your home, as we can recommend some fantastic companies.

New home builds

If you are looking to build a new home and are happy to “buy one off the shelf” with a set design plan, we suggest you chat with the project home builders at the show. This is a very cost-effective way of building your new home as the designs are spread across multiple houses.

Custom home builds

Building a custom home is a bit of a grey area so here’s the low down. When going through a builder for your home design, they will either have an in-house designer or will outsource to one. Either way, the designer is designing on behalf of the builder. Once you are locked in with a builder and their designer, it’s hard to get an alternative quote. But this is exactly what the Home Show is for. Talking to professionals, asking ALL of the questions, and gauging whether you want to go through a builder or an architect. You’ve got the dreams and there are many options to help you get there.
